The Nationals

Oh boy, where do I start? I have had the most incredible weekend. I am still recovering from it.
First thing I have to say is that the pictures are coming and as soon as I have them I will post them. I can't wait to see them myself!
The entire weekend was so eventful and I have way to much information to spill out in just one post so I will go over the highlights first.
I meet the most wonderful people on my stay in Melbourne. Lia and Daniel are absolutely the most caring and giving people I have had the pleasure of meeting. They picked me up from the airport and looked after me so well. I felt so very spoilt. I was a member of the Halsall team for a few days and loved being apart of a great team :-).
For me it was hard to imagine that we had only just meet as it seemed like we had known each other for many years. Thank you so much Lia and Daniel for your hospitality.
I also have to make mention of another person I meet who I got along with just as well and I will continue to stay in touch with. Katie!!!! What a gal. I had a blast with her. Katie is so likeable, she is sweet and caring and gorgeous. Katie you also made my Melbourne trip fun and memorable.
I got to meet Em, Meggie, Jamie-Lee, Cherie, and Ali for the first time. Im sorry I didn't have more time to spend with these lovely ladies. It was funny because I recongised the girls purely from the pictures posted on there blogs. It was just so nice to meet everyone in person. Alicia (who I had meet weeks before) was great support for us all.
Liz and Rae were there and we were mucking around backstage for a little while. The day was so very long and I think I was loosing it a bit before the finals. I had the pleasure of Sam backstage as well. What a sweet and friendly girl, with a body to die for! Sam has the most amazing smile.
My line up was unbelievable!! The quality of the girls physiques and the way they moved themselves around the stage was amazing, I couldn't believe they were in the novice division lol. Including me, there were 16 of us. This division was the biggest and we were on stage the longest during our pre-judging.
I didn't place, but I didn't expect too. I did however have the best experience ever. I learnt so much over the weekend. Backstage was a real eye-opener, so very educational lol. I loved being apart of the whole experience.
Lia taught me so much. I am still sorting my head out with all this information I have gathered for processing. I have many new ideas and plans running through my brain right now, I really need to slow down and write it all down and put it together so I can work on everything one step at a time.
In conclusion, I would not trade competing at the Nationals last weekend for anything. I had the time of my life. Meeting the most amazing people and feeling so at ease around them all is priceless. Lia, Daniel, Katie, Josh, Tim, Terry, Dallas, and Lindy......how lucky am I to know such a great bunch of people :-).
Right now I am taking time off weight training. I have decided to take two weeks off. I will go into the gym as of this Thursday for cardio only, I miss it.
The next two weeks of rest will allow me to put together a killer program. I will be getting my father involved in that me thinks!
Nutrition is very good. Im keeping things clean. All I need to do is eat more with each meal to increase my calorie consumption so I can build more muscle.
I will leave it at that for now, but will give more details about the comp soon and I will post pictures as soon as I get any.
Luv Deb xxx
P.s. I ordered and paid for my DVD from the Qld State Titles and am so excited. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Chris tells me that the professional pictures from the Qld show are nearly ready, as soon as they are I will order those too!

4 Sleeps to go!

Getting closer now. I can't believe how different it all feels this time around. I am so much more less stressed and it makes a huge difference.

The girls competing in Liz and my division has jumped up to 15 now lol. Should be fun :-). I hope there is enough room on the stage! I am hoping that I am a little more relaxed on stage this time and not shaking the entire event lol. Knowing im going to compete purely for the experience and exposure and fun too will hopefully mean I will be more relaxed, but who knows with me as I freak out too easily at times.

I just got waxed and will continue my tanning applications as of this evening. My training has ended for me today as I went in on Sunday so I could have an extra day of rest. Rest meaning running around and preparing myself for the comp. I get my nails done on Thursday and Friday I fly to Melbourne.

My current condition is good and I still have a few days to improve on that. My scales tell me I have put on a little over a kilo but I think it might be good weight.
Yesterday my hubby gave me money and said go shopping! woohoo, I did. I needed clothes that fit me, what a dag.
I bought two pairs of jeans and freaked out when I realized I was now a size six. I have been for a while but had't been shopping.
So now when I where these clothes you can really see how tiny I have become. I still can't get used to the new me, it takes time for your mind to adjust.

So my mind right now is in a good place and I am soo looking forward to a fantastic weekend in Melbourne.

my exciting news!

This morning it became official, I have been sponsored by Wrapped Secrets Outlet on the Gold Coast!
They carry a great range of lingerie, and have swim wear and stage heels and so much more.

I went into the store this morning to speak with Paula the owner. After we finishing talking she was so lovely and offered me then and there to take anything I wanted.

Oh my good where do I start lol. But that's not why I was there and politely said no but ended up walking out with some hot pants anyway!

Things are still very new with this and I will be no doubt blogging more about this as things progress more and more.

Sorry I kept you guys in suspense but I really wanted to go into the store first and discuss things further making sure it was all confrimed before blurting it out.

I might need Jadey's services for a photo shoot ;-), I have access to some beautiful outfits.

Life's Good!

This picture was taken exactly one week out from the Qld State INBA Titles.
I am having one of those "up" days. Feeling really good and really happy. I must tell you I did have a "valley" day on Tuesday though, I am so up and down at times it is just so unpredictable.
Training is awesome and I am enjoying my cardio sessions as they are just cruising to the music intensity just so I don't tap into precious muscle now. But enough to keep my bodyfat levels low.
I am not weighing myself anymore, I just don't think there is any point. I just check my condition in the mirror and that is enough for me to know where im at. If I count six abs, then I am on track ;-).
Not long now until the Nationals, so far there are eight in our line up (Liz and me included). There could be more so I will keep an eye out on what the total will be. I say the more the merrier! Although, if the novice division could go through to Perth I wouldn't be saying that lol.
I feel so less stressed about this comp then I did with the Qld one. I think its because I know im just going down to have a ball and I have no expectations at all.
Qld was different as it was the "unknown" that was freaking me out and causing me to stress.
I will be in excellent hands down in Melbourne as I have Team Halsall looking after me. How lucky am I????
I can't wait to meet everyone down there!!
P.s. Something very exciting happen to me at the gym this morning. I will let you know whats going on next week ;-)

My Journey Continues

I never would have expected to be going down to Melbourne to compete in the Nationals. In fact it took days for it to sink in and I am still blown away by the whole thing.

My father has been calling me alot lol, he wants to make sure I go no matter what as it is a great experience. I sent him some pictures and he should recieve them today. I can count on him for an honest opionion on my physique. If something needs work, he will let me know lol. So im feeling a little excited about what his feedback will be. His knowledge in the bodybuilding industry is phenominal. I had send him pitures to the lead up of the Qld State titles but he only saw until 3 weeks out.

Melbourne for me means stage experience, boy I need to get used to being up there. I am worried about the shaking again as I felt very resticted with my posing due to loosing my balance.
It also means meeting up with soooo many bloggers lol. I get to meet Lia at last woohoo.

So where to after Melbourne? I would like to compete in the all girl show here on the Gold Coast next year. ANd then take it from there.

My hubby has been wonderful, I am so very lucky to have his support through all this. He is very proud of me and my son calls me "champ" now lol.

So I am still in comp prep. I am training hard and watching my nutrition. I had a bit of a peanut feast on Friday night but am back on track again. My weight is still the same as it was at the comps. I was really happy with how lean I came in. I hope to keep this weight for two more weeks!

A note to all competing in the Nationals:
I just spoke to Wayne in Melbourne and he mentioned to keep an eye out on the inba website as of tonight http://www.inba.com.au to see that your forms are in and how many are in each division etc.

Talk soon,

Debs

Comp Day!

I have been caught up in a whirlwind of business and excitement since Saturday, comp day. I loved every moment of the day even though it flew past so very quickly.
It was so much fun just being apart of a show, being backstage, just the whole experience of it all was a dream come true.
I will say that I was the girl that shook the stage lol, I was trembling uncontrolably due to the adrenaline rush. I could't stop it no matter how hard I tried. It even caused me to loose my balance a couple of times. But I got through it with bruising anyone lol.
I had Alicia right next to me which was great. Alicia I am so very proud of you. You have come so far and achieved so very much and you looked stunning on the day.
Also a really big thank you goes to Andj. She was a huge help to me back stage and I am so very grateful.
So I still can't believe I placed second :-). It has been slowly sinking in over the last few days. What a wonderful feeling to achieve the goals you set out to achieve, and then the icing on the cake was my trophy.
All the girls in the Figure Novice Tall were really nice. There was 8 of us. It is so nice that we could all have a bit of a chat backstage right before we got on and support each other. The way I see it is we were all finalists because we made it there that day.
I can't wait for the professional pictures to come. I think we have to wait a little while for them. And also I can't to see what my score was. They will be letting us all know our scores.
Josh was waiting backstage for Alicia and I with open arms, he was so proud and that moment was priceless. Thank you Josh for your guidence.
I didn't go crazy with off plan eating afterwards, simply because I didn't feel hungry, to much excitement. I did have a skinny latte and my little muffin soon after getting off stage. Andj and Hilary were there and my proud hubby and son and a few of my friends. That night I felt like chinese food so we went out and enjoyed such a lovely evening.
A huge thank you to everyone who has wished me well. It means so very much to me. More then I can put into words.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Today and tomorrow are suppose to be rest days. That just seems to be impossible when the comp is only twos days away. It just mean "no gym", but running around is definitely what's going on right now.
I had my nail appointment today so prior to that I took my contest bikini and went to buy a nail polish to match it. I found what I needed, the cosmetic lady loved the bikini when I showed it to her for a colour match up. She asked me if I was a dancer lol.
I have completely removed the rest of my body hair
Shave Face
I feel so bare! I have also started applying my tan.
Tomorrow is a big day as Nathan (my manager and son) and I drive up to Brisbane so that I can register and find out all about the big day. I am excited!!
So currently I have increased my water intake
Bottled Water .
I have cut back on my salt intake. But the hardest thing im finding that I had to give up is my sugar free gum. I just love chewing when im nervous. But it is only the rest of today and tomorrow. I just have to learn to adapt (wise words from Lia) ;-).
My weight hit an all time low, I was floored this morning when I looked at the scales. But I can definitely see it when I look at my body, as someone said a day or so ago "you look like a greyhound". Nice ...not! lol
I may be able to blog tomorrow, depending on the time factor. If not, I will be posting comp pictures next Tuesday, but most of you will know the days results by the end of the weekend with all the texting that will be going on.
Cell Phone 4
Also, I can't wait to catch up with the blogging girls who are competing up here and coming to watch.
Good luck to everyone competing on the day.

The Finish Line Is Near!

Is that what the title says? 5 days? lol....I just can't believe it!! The question everyone has been asking me most is "are you excited?", OMG yes, yes im very excited!!!

Good thing I didn't have to answer that question last Friday, I had a mental attack of some sort. I could not concentrate on anything, my mind seemed like I was in a permanately in a gloomy cloud. I was feeling paranoid too. I thought nobody liked me lol. But im good now, I had some extra calories last night and feel fantastic today.

I only have to more sessions left at the gym, then Thursday and Friday rest. I have a nail appointment on Thursday anyway, and Friday a drive to Brisbane to register.

The reason im really happy right now is because I just saw my final pictures that I had to send to Josh. My manager (son) took them on Saturday afternoon but I didn't get a chance to look at them until now. They are awesome and I think if I can hold this condition until Saturday, I will be ok to just have fun on the day and not stress about anything. Holding this condition is not an issue but I never allow myself to get caught off guard or get careless.

Sixteen weeks of preperation is a long time (Alicia would agree) and it will be over in such a short time. I can't believe this sunday I can eat without thinking of the comp, that will get some getting use too. All I do is think of the comp everytime I eat something, that has been one of the things that has kept me on track.

I will blog again tomorrow, I want to see idol now lol.
