My weekend

I had a big posing weekend. It is going to take so much practise to get this right. Sometimes I wonder if its worth it. I can't believe how hard it is to pose.

I finally start to get somewhere and then im told I need to be able to do the same poses facing the opposite direction.....grr.......it's like starting all over again. I am in pain, but that part doesn't worry me, its just muscle pain anyway.

My nutrition is good. I have lost a little weight in two weeks. At least all the focus on the poses is taking away (a little) from the eating plan.

I know I keep saying this, but what would I do without Lia???? I would be a complete mess. I email her asking her things I need to know and pictures I need to see and what does she do? She gets everything to me ASAP. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lia. You are keeping my head in the right place. Focused!

14 weeks out......today my biggest fear is posing. I want to look good on stage but I have this horrible feeling I will be shaking to much. It keeps happening. I guess I will wait until days before the comp before I know for sure.

The next couple of days I will have to find a song for my routine. Then work on that!!! How do you make this fun? This whole comp prep, how is it fun? I wish I knew.

Oh Deb you poor thing, you sound a little stressed!!! Having Lia to talk to must make you feel more confident though and also having Josh as your trainer.....I bet I would be shaking like a leaf from nerves too with the posing but I am sure as you practice more you will start to feel more confident.....there are many things in life where first we are nervous then later become second nature....I am sure you by the time comp comes it will all flow nicely.....just remember the strong person you already are to have accomplished what you already have with your training and nutrition, there have been hurdles and you have manage to leap over then.....I am sure you felt a little uncomfortable when you first picked up a set of dumbbells!!! You'll be fine Deb, believe in yourself, you a very capable person and you will conquer this!!!

Hey Deb,
All you can do is practise, practise, practise and do it in front of other people if you can. I just know you will be fine. It sounds like everything is just humming along nicely right now. Don't worry about the shaking - all of us were shaking like mad! I hope I am better too :)

That Lia is a gem! I'm glad Lia is around. She is a great support!

Hugs

Splice you are going to be awesome on stage. That posing does look tough, but you've got 14 weeks yet to perfect the art - lots of time to get it right! Hope you're getting lots of practise walking in those shoes too!

Be strong, and thank goodness for Lia!!

Oh My Darling Deb, you are so sweet and say the most beautiful things. I'm the lucky one you know. :o)

Now as for posing, there is no right or wrong way either, that's the beauty of it all. As for the shaking, many competitors do it on stage so don't worry about that one. The trick is to back it off to about 90% so that you still maintain the sqeeze but without the shaking part. Does that make sense? How about I send you copies of my 2005 INBA Vic's & Aussies dvd's so that you can see for yourself and learn from them. They're the best tool a competitor can buy. It's up to you, just say that word and considerate it done! ;o)

Luv Ya xoxoxoxoxo

I am so worried about the posing too. My big prob is I cant get my lats out until I raise my arms up something similar to the double bicep pose... I will keep working on it though. Its all great fun hey!

You will get together!! we all have absolute faith in you!

PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE, says I :) how must admit it looks bloody hard work

Hope your week is going along great!!

of course its fun, you're overcoming obstacles EVERY DAY!@! the shaking thing i wish i knew how to cure... i get nervous in front of an audience ... i choke up and cant talk (and for anyone that knows me its hard to believe)!! i just signed up to become a celebrant and at about 2am i wokje up and though "how the fu$k am i supposed to talk infront of all those big groups of people ( a little premature i know, but you should've seen how bad my poem reading was at dans sisters wedding OMG i thought someone would put me out of my misery and drag me off) .... doing stuff in front of people is SCARY so i totally sympathise.

Can u remember where yours stemmed from:?? mine came from a speak out competition in primary school... i forgot all of my words and flaked it on stage and heard people saying stuff like (get her off) eek i was only 11 what a CRUEL word!! am trying to dissasociate with it... still gives me shivers thinking aobut it... maybe if you figure out what makes you shake on stage youy may be able to overcome it...

GL Deb

Honey i have no idea what posing intails, but i do know if anything is worth learning its worth all the practise and the end result is winning your first comp, also when you think about it alot of those comp girls have been doing it for atleast a year and i bet they felt the same as you before their first comp, its all about practise and its all about getting that confidence to strut your stuff on stage!!!
I say fake it till you've got it hehe :)
