Jo Rogers

I have had the most exciting weekend!! But I will start with Saturday and then tell you about Sunday at Rae's comp.

Saturday I drove to Brisbane to meet Jo Rogers for the very first time for a two hour posing session.

Poor Jo, lucky me is all I can say lol.

My mind went to bits as soon as I pulled up in her street. I was so nervous and excited I had forgotten the house number. I called her and she came out and got me.

My first impressions of Jo was simply "wow". She was so down to earth, very freindly, professional and reassuring.

We sat and chatted for a while which was great, she has so much knowledge about competing and was happy to share important points with me.

Next it was time to choose my contest heels. It took less then two minutes because if I had even considered looking into it further, we would still be there lol. I promised myself to just take the first pair that felt right, and it just so happened to be the second pair I tried on.

Now I have them on and all is well until Jo gets me to stand in front of the mirror and start learning my "relaxed pose". AT this stage I start to tremble and shake like mad. Poor Jo, she must have been fighting back the urge to laugh at me. She was so nice throughout the whole session.

Can you believe if im shaking like mad now, what will I be like on stage!!

Jo went over all the posing I needed to learn and she said I did well, so I can only be happy with that. I need to practice obviously and have been already.

I will be going back to see Jo for another lesson. I hope she doesn't mind lol.

I am still in pain from my rear delts, right done my entire back and to my hamstrings from manipulating my body into positions I have never been in before.

But it's all worth while. A little pain will not stop me from reaching my dreams.

Jo Rogers is really something else, I just can't stop raving about her. She possesses a very special quality and I really enjoy being in her presence.

lol at your "relaxed" state ;) You really are such a sweetie :)

Oooh, and new shoes too!

It sounds like you had an awesome time hun - how exciting now that it is getting so close! Eek! Just imagine what it will be like when you get all your comp clothes!

Love ya work ;)

Big hugs,
B

Hi Splice!

So great to meet you yesterday! :) Hope your posing practise is going well - it sounds like its a workout in itself! Now that I've finally seen a comp I understand what its all about!!

Hi honey,

I am so sorry, but I ran out of time today to catch up with you for coffee (slept in and was about 2 hours behind all day!!). But we will definitely catch up hopefully soon one day, and definitely at comp!! It was so awesome to meet you... we were all raving about how lovely you are!! xxx

Jo Rogers is just the sweetest, isn't she! I loved working with her when I was living up there too. Enjoy it, I know you'll have a blast with her. :o)

How exciting for you!! I was actually just tonight looking at one of her routines on line, (since we recently got broadband) she is so graceful, and doesn't she make it look so easy!!

My goodness how will you choose a costume, now that would be a challenge for me, there are so bloody many lovely ones!!

Have a great week, wonderful that it all went so well

Ali xx

Glad to hear about your day with Jo, the posing and the shoes. I'm sure "everyone" was a bit wobbly before they could "fly" on stage. Perhaps we should train "walking" together? Any suggestions on stopping a nose bleed from standing in them for so long?! LOL.
Happy practising!

You'll be great. A few more posing sessions and your first one will seem like a distant memory! Sorry I didn't meet up with you guys at the comp. I haven't been feeling the best but will be there - HUGE - come Oct (so long as bub doesn't decide to come early hehehe)

Hi Deb,
Jo is great isn't she? I reckon I have been her worst dork - the posing is just my hugest downfall. I'm just so glad I worked with her, otherwise my comp would have been a major embarrassment :)

Hugs Liz )

If you think that you were bad, then I have hope because you looked fabulous on stage. You posed beautifully!!
