Dieting & Grog!

I cannot believe what happened to me yesterday!
Knowing I had to be at an "informal" business lunch yesterday I purposely made sure to arrive late. I wanted to arrive after they had finished stuffing there faces with yummy delicious food, and not be tempted to loose control.
So I arrive and they insist I have a glass of red wine. I agreed knowing that one glass of good red wine was acually beneficial and harmless lol.
So I was "sipping" on this one glass of red for about an hour and a half, whilst they went through 3 to 4 glasses each in the same amount of time.
I must admit I could feel every sip of wine hitting my empty stomach (my lunch was earlier) and traveling directly into my bloodsteam. After my glass was empty I felt as though I had polished off the bottle myself.
How could one glass have that effect on me? My goodness I still can't get over it. I used to be able to down a bottle to my self and not feel any different lol.
My body is in a different state at the moment and after yesterday I am now afraid to drink at all.
I tried repling to Em's blog, and after writing a big response and posting it I went back over it and it was all over the place lol. Sorry Em for that. I went straight home after that scenario.
I responded today.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I don't mind at all hun, You one pot screamer you LOL
I did the same thing at a friends party i think sipping is the worst thing you can do because i was red faced and giggling shocker!!!!
I appreciate your help hun:)

I'm the same with alcohol... I won't even begin to go into detail about the amount I used to drink in my party days during my nights out, but suffice to say I feel the effects of one glass as well. The cleaner your system, the more alcohol affects it.
I used to also love huge blocks of Cadbury chocolate, but am a lot happier with a couple of pieces of really expensive chocolate that is flown into Perth from Belgium every week.
Moderation is definitely the key!!

Too funny, I know exactly how you feel, I too have been in this situation, only to actually go out on the night on one of my free meals and then to wake up the next day and not remember 1/2 of the night. OMG it was really that bad, you forget that you don't have the same body fat as before which helped you consume so much alchol and actually cope with it very well, I would compair it with having children, you know after you have your first child for some reason your mind is telling you that you will imediately fit back into your prebaby clothing. Duh...not the case at all. See alchol has the same trick on your brain.
It's good to have a glass every now and then so enjoy yourself but just remember that you limits have now changed.

Tracey you are spot on, having lower bodyfat has made it easier for me to feel the effects of the yummy red stuff lol.
Thanks.
